From Martin Margiela's exposed seams and unfinished hems to Rei Kawakubo's radical reconstruction of the body, our first journal explores fashion's most influential anti-fashion movement. Emerging in the late twentieth century, deconstruction challenged conventional ideas of beauty, craftsmanship and luxury by exposing the inner workings of a garment and embracing imperfection as a form of expression.
